The position

We look for a passionate (Senior) Food Scientist (m/f/x) with scientific experience in cheese, dairy, or milk protein technology and a hands-on mindset to develop and take novel food products from the concept to laboratory to market. You will be responsible for analytical and experimental work to integrate our ingredients into new prototypes and products. You will be working with a cross-functional team of experts and dive into the dynamic environment of Berlin’s startup ecosystem.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, execute, analyze and report experimental work to develop a science-based understanding of ingredients interactions, as well as process impact on product properties
  • Generate and apply knowledge in the domain of dairy proteins and cheese science at a fundamental and applied science level
  • Translate discoveries into applications through rapid prototyping
  • Collaborate with our molecular biology and fermentation scientists as well as with external research partners
  • Contribute to our long-term food product and science strategy
  • Monitor and leverage scientific developments in the area of protein and dairy alternatives to design innovative technologies and processes


Job requirements

Your profile

  • Monitor and leverage scientific developments in the area of protein and dairy alternatives to design innovative technologies and processes
  • Master’s degree in Food Science / Food Technology / Chemistry or a related field, Ph.D. highly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial R&D related to dairy proteins, cheese technology, or dairy technology
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skill set to analyze experimental data and derive actionable insights
  • Experience in managing and executing R&D projects independently from start to end
  • Hands-on personality, team-play-spirit and efficient self-time management
  • Passionate about food, health, nutrition and sustainability
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
  • International experience desirable
